Buying a Motor Vehicle

Looking to finance a Motor Vehicle. It is often an emotional purchase, so try to plan before stepping into a car yard.

Be realistic. How much can you easily afford each month?

Do you need ‘bells and whistles’ such as Sickness and Unemployment Insurance, Gap Insurance? These are all very well, but do you really need them? If you are considering adding them to your cost, you should also read the fine print on any of these policies. They can be good options, but important to know what you are signing.

Researching the type of vehicle you are looking for can also be done on the internet. Things such as fuel consumption, towing capacity and so on are all available on various websites such as carsales.com.au.

You may be looking to purchase a Used vehicle – the same rules apply. However, you do have more protection if purchasing from a Registered Dealer. If you have a specific vehicle in mind, a local Dealer will often be able to source one for you.

If you find a vehicle being sold privately, you must do an inspection to ensure the Vin has not been tampered with and all ID numbers match the Registration Papers. Once this is done, you will need to search the PPSR register www.ppsr.gov.au to ascertain if there are any charges registered over the vehicle.

We are always happy to provide anyone with a comparative quote, to be sure you are getting a good deal. Always compare payments, not interest rates.

Remember that you may keep your car for 5 years, so you want to be sure you have the right car and finance package.

Members of HRBA

We have signed on as members of HRBA (Hamilton Regional Business Association), and recently enjoyed an evening of networking & drinks at Taylor Motors.

We heard from our guest speakers Adam Taylor, who shared with us about the long running history of Taylor Motors, and Kaye Schofield, who invited the business community to attend RMIT’s business events and meet entrepreneur Marcus Powe.

The Happy Hour was very successful, and those who attended had a great time. We now look forward to several more “Happy Hours” as a great opportunity for us to meet representatives from each business & get to know one another and discuss any ideas or issues in an informal setting.

September 2014

As the start of September is upon us, we now wind up our footy tipping’s & embrace the finals series now upon us, with most attention being taken up by the snowballing Richmond bandwagon!

In our little world, we have seen an increase in enquiry & phone activity, showing some strong signs of an increase in consumer confidence in the area.

August saw a variety of items financed, including Nissan Navaras & Nissan Patrols, TCM Forklifts, Skip Bins, Volvo Cab Chasis & Kenworth Prime Movers, as well as John Deere Balers & Can-Am ATVs just to name a few.

Chattel Mortgage finance was our main loan type settled, through a range of Financiers including Westpac, Iden, Capital, BOQ Equipment Finance, Service & Macquarie Leasing.

So as you can see our range of items financed & the financiers that we use vary each week, so as the days draw longer & the sun shines a little more, please don’t hesitate to give us the opportunity to at least quote on your next vehicle or equipment purchase.
